We will have shirts and cds available. I am very excited for these shows because we are playing with some amazing bands. I have been a fan of Crosstide for a long time and this will be the first time we will have the pleasure of sharing the stage with them. The Republic is a great rock band from Seattle that I have been enjoying lateley. Pony Village is a really good indie/pop band from Portland and Pine Language (with whom I also play bass) is a cool indie band from Corvallis. Check out these bands on their myspace pages and if you can make it to the shows, please come join us. Come find me and get one of the few new shirts we've made and talk about music.

I'm surprised you didn't know this already but you can hear us on our myspace page:
www.myspace.com/theviciouskisses

and I'm working on our webpage
www.theviciouskisses.com

Some other great new bands I have been listening to are:

Dan Jones and The Squids from Eugene, OR.

Seacats from Kelso, WA

Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zero from Los Angeles, CA

Also... My cousin has started a really cool blog about albums and their covers. He has very similar taste in music and art as I do so I am really enjoying it. Turns out I'm not very good at blogging...and neither is Mark. We had the best of intentions...but I fear it may not be for us. I guess I'm just not that good with the whole small- talking computer relationship thing. And Mark probably won't join in until the primary audience changes to be a little more... "not female". (Not that he doesn't love the ladies!) Considering this valuable new information, I think we might be done. For the few who cared, sorry. But really, our blog was never that good anyway, so I think this loss amongst the blogging world is, in actuality, quite insignificant.
We will check in from time to time, but for now, we're signing off. Peace and love!
Kellie
I do like emails though; it feels a bit more personable. kel_lee4@hotmail.com ( i hope to one day change my high school email address, but continually fail to do so)

The Well Project

Hey all! I wanted to tell you all about something Mark and I are very very excited about...The Well Project! It's a worship album that my brother in law Andrew recently came out with...(and yes he was the lead singer of the W's, of which he is greatly ashamed). Mark worked a bit on the album too, and we have both been very involved in the whole process in different aspects, of which I will explain later.
Anyway, its a worship album that is quite rare because unlike the majority of your average worship and praise music out there, this music is actually good! Fancy that. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy worship! I listen to it often. But some of you may agree that the majority of it either all sounds exactly the same, reminds you far too much of the early 90's, or, lets be honest, it's just not good! But to Mark and I, this CD sounds and feels quite different. One way I know this to be true is because I did the oh so official "Kellie's Non-Christian Test". I thought to myself, "Would I feel embarassed giving this album to someone who isn't a Christian, or even religious person? (not because I am embarrassed of God, but because I am often embarassed of his childrens music...Does that make me a bad person?) :-) And I honestly answered this very logical question with a "No, I would be actually quite excited and proud to give this to someone."
But the most important part is that the entire album was created with the focus of raising money to build wells in Africa. 100% of the proceeds go directly to building the wells. If you check out the wesite, www.songsforwater.com, you can get all the info yourself and find out how to download it or have it shipped to you. Even if you don't like the music, what a fantastic cause!!! Sisters Community Church (of which Mark and I have merged with since we've been here) has a sister church in Uganda, and for now, that country is where most of the proceeds will be invested and given. There are also teams of people that Sisters Community sends over to build the wells and to tell them about Jesus. Mark and I hope to go on this trip in the next year or two.
Please check it out...it's a great investment. Mark and I have been so blessed and encouraged to be a part of this whole process. We have been praying nonstop and have seen some crazy spiritual warfare going on over this whole thing. To me, such strong spiritual opposition only shows that God wants to do something really big and powerful through this ministry. I believe the Lord to be very very eager to help his children in Africa, to meet their needs physically and spiritually, and I desperately want to be a part of that movement. Thanks for reading...sorry it was so long!

Oh the joys of not sleeping

So it's about 3:30 in the am...been up for the last hour laying in bed, and finally thought I should at least do something useful with my time. So here I am. Almost every night, I wake up around 2 or 3 and don't usually fall back asleep for several hours. I wish I could blame it on crying babies, or maybe even a really uncomfortable matress. But nope, I just wake up, even if I'm really tired. So frustrating.
I'm partaking in quite a few "natural remedies". But nothing is quite doing the trick yet. I've been off sleeping pills for the last year, and do not desire to go back on again cuz they make me a little mean. Does anyone out there have some suggestions that don't necessarily include a shot of vodka or pharmaceuticals?
